Brazilian beef producers or processors are unlikely to feel the pinch from EU efforts to close its borders to Brazilian imports. 80% of Brazilian beef is consumed domestically which mitigates export risks, growth however of the beef industry in Brazil is driven by exports but these are increasingly destined to North Africa, Middle East, Russia and will develop further to China. The more likely consequence of any EU ban on Brazilian beef will be the negative impact on profits felt by European meat processors dependent on cheap Brazilian meat.
